SO SWEET IT MADE ME CRY. Can you do Cloud Atlas. What McMurphy did to Nurse Ratched I wanted to do my mean grade 6 teacher Mrs Mildred who had me in tears once. I hated her so much. I just noticed all this time. Hard-on fell asleep reading a book. Ridiculous comments, Ratched was Psychologically manipulating Billy by threatening him that she would tell his mom. Fletcher played the Role to perfection, to this day I can't recall a more evil individual character portrayal in a motion picture.

That emotion is ouch xD. I got more votes than Ann Margaret that year. Love this film :D. I was 17. and 5 weeks out of the Oakland psych ward when I saw this film. Wow. Never seen these. I think most would have detracted from the (my favourite) film, but I see someone said they were in the book so that's my next journey. Nice video. Please do reviews for Alien, Blade Runner, Pi, Blue Velvet. That's be so cool. I have rarely seen films so good that I am left speechless. I could talk about Nicholson's superb performance, the excellent script, the provocative social questions the film raises. but my "analysis" of this movie would only ruin it. All I can say is this movie is an intelligent masterpiece.

It had great cast of then unknowns. I subbed i want more :D. Lmao bruh Taber is really one of my favorite characters after Billy. One of the best movies I have ever seen. Bancini should have rushed forward saying he's tired. Just finished with the book. Damn beautiful. Movie looks great! Will watch. I saw the movie today and it's great! But the end is really sad.

I feel like the chief isn't real. He represents Randall's strength

Louise Fletcher was also great on Star Trek Deep Space Nine. After seeing the homage to this film on Once Upon a Time, I'm curious to see it. (And coincidentally, Brad Dourif was in one of the episodes. Simplicity can tell a great story. You don't need complex sets, visual effects, or unneeded overly violent scenes. You need drab white sets, no visual effects, and only vital violent scenes in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." The simplicity this film exhibits is amazing for such a complex plot.
Randall Patrick McMurphy (Jack Nicholson) is a troubled criminal sent from a work farm with a history of assault and statutory rape. Half the time he is there, McMurphy is out making friends with the other patients. The other half, he bides his time plotting against the oppressive Miss Ratched.
Miss Mildred Ratched (Louise Fletcher) shows no sign of villainy on the surface, but in her eyes, you see the fire which makes her tick. Running a strict routine, she exhibits many of the same characteristics as Angela Lansbury's performance as Eleanor Iselin in "The Manchurian Candidate" kind on the surface, evil in the mind-and makes you unsure whether or not to sympathize with her when McMurphy attempts to strangle her, or to watch her with disgust as she leads Billy Bibbet to his suicide.
Mental patients in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" are people too; their minds still work, they can participate in group therapy without looking like an idiot; they have the same cognitive abilities as anyone else. These are accurate depictions of people in a metal hospital through the performances of Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, and Vincent Schiavelli.
This film is a masterpiece mainly because of the performance of Louise Fletcher as Miss Ratched. If you are astounded by this performance, then please check out Angela Lansbury's in "The Manchurian Candidate...

2:09. Part II can be watched in Shining. I'm glad someone uploaded this. It's a pretty complicated ending that probably does need explanation. I'm pretty sure I know why the end happened the way it did but at the same time there could be things I don't know. There were some seriously unhappy-looking women in that years pecially Ann Margaret. Jesus Christ. Is Billy Chucky. I always wondered if another actress who could have played ratched would have been karen black. she was good at playing that passive aggressive evil and had those close together eyes she could make look mean. Louise hated playing the role of nurse ratched because it was so contrary to her true nature.
